Where does 1 mum start?

This seemed like a good idea at the time.  I have so much going on in my life and I genuinely worry about our world – current affairs, politics, the arts and environmental issues all whilst living in my mum bubble in London.

My eldest likes to talk and during one of our many long and undulating discussions he asked me what it takes to change the world.  I told him you have to live in a way that you hope will inspire others to be more like you and even the tiniest change can make a huge impact if you’re doing it for the right reasons.  Later that week I read a news story about a man who was so incensed to see litter piling up on the waters edge on his way to work that he decided to wake up 30 minutes earlier everyday and collect 1 bag full of rubbish whilst he walked.

He Started Small, But The Impact Was Huge!

The difference is incredible and his dedication to the cause has no doubt improved the environment for others and local wildlife.

This is exactly what I meant.

One of my most overused sayings is “I am somebody” as in “why doesn’t somebody do something about that?”

I don’t think it really matters where you start to make a change.  If you recognise that improvements could be made, you can identify how you can take action to make the desired changes a reality, one piece of crap at at time.  The worst thing you can do is sit around waiting for somebody else to do something.

So there you have it, the blog is born and hopefully I can inspire others to help change the world.  But then again, I’m just 1 mum.
